Alderwood-City Center Transition Area

The Alderwood-City Center Transition Area (Transition Area) was originally proposed as part of the North End of the City Center. When the City Center Sub-Area Plan was adopted, this area was designated for further study in recognition of its important location linking the City Center and Alderwood Mall.  Future development within the Transition Area would also need to respect the single-family residential neighborhood west of 36th Ave. W.

After many public meetings, on May 10, 2012, the Planning Commission recommended the proposed Transition Area zoning and design guidelines for City Council consideration. In June 2012, City Council began to consider this item. A public hearing was held on June 11, 2012.
