City Center-Alderwood Transition Area

The current study is intended to resolve questions about future development in the Transition Area. The Transition Area was originally included in the City Center Study Area as part of the North End of City Center. When the City Center Sub-Area Plan was adopted in 2005, concerns were raised about possible impacts to residential neighborhoods.  In September 2007, the Transition Area was taken out of the City Center Plan and was designated as the Transition Area in recognition of its important linkage location between the City Center, Alderwood Mall and the neighborhood west of 36th Ave W. The City will be meeting with residents, businesses, and property owners in the Transition Area and adjoining neighborhoods to resolve the outstanding questions.
