Hotel Motel Tax Revenue

Lynnwood received $577,836 in hotel/motel tax in 2008, a 3% increase compared to 2007. Lynnwood receives more lodging tax than any other Snohomish County city. Everett, with $347,349 2008 annual receipts, is the second largest collector followed by Bothell with $182,383.

Hotel Occupancy Rates

2008 hotel occupancy in Lynnwood was 71%, 7% higher than the rest of Snohomish County but 3% less than in 2007.  The drop in occupancy is attributed to lack of Lynnwood inventory, saturation rates and a slow economy.

Compared to other Washington State counties, Snohomish County ranks 2nd in 2008 occupancy levels.  Only King County with a 2008 occupancy of 69% ranks higher.

Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR)

The City of Lynnwood hotel ADR in 2008 was $110.28, a 4.3% increase over 2007.  The remainder of the Snohomish County had an ADR of $86.28.

The RevPAR in Lynnwood dropped 1% compared to 2007 to $77.71.  The County RevPAR in 2008 dropped 6.6% to $55.18.

The Lynnwood ADR and RevPAR were higher that county wide figures in 2008 in keeping with historical trends.
